Staff Community Outreach
Kern County Probation Department staff is known for their generous spirit throughout the community. Their personal time is often spent volunteering countless hours and/or financially supporting local non-profit organizations. These organizations predominately support the youth within our community and include but are not limited to:
- Relay for Life-Team Probation-Raised over$25,000 between 2007-2010 for the American Cancer Society.
- 5K Run/Walk for At-Risk Youth-Benefits PACK's (Probation Auxiliary County of Kern) Intervention/Prevention Programs
- Victim Witness Fog Run-Benefit to local crime victims for the past 21 years
- Parra Foundation's ' Giveaway-Toys distributed to families in need
- SAL (Sheriff's Activity League) Fishing Derby
- PAL (Bakersfield Police Activities League) Battle of the Badges
- Battle of the Bulls-Benefit to KFAL (Kern Firefighter's Activity League) and PACK's Take Away Tattoo and Mentor Programs
- Music By the River-Benefits PACK's Take Away Tattoo and Mentor Programs
- Community BBQ & Backpack Giveaway-provided 1000 lunches & distributed 500 backpacks
- Graffiti Removal Projects-Community beautification by painting over graffiti
- United Way Donations-Benefits PACK's Intervention/Prevention Programs
- United Way's Annual Day of Caring-Unites volunteers with non-profit agencies
- Pictures With Santa-Benefits PACK's Intervention/Prevention Programs
- Christmas Tree Wish Lists-Benefits Youth Connection
